Author, historian, and editorial columnist for the Minnesota Star Tribune. He was the last person to interview communist leader Gus Hall. He will talk about the Finnish-American influence on Minnesota history: From immigration to politics, stories of of how the Finns shaped the North Star State.

Oct 30 – Twin Cities Jewish Film Festival will be showing Never Alone.
Never Alone tells the gripping story of Jewish refugees seeking safety in Finland during WWII. As Nazi influence grows, the Finnish-Jewish businessman Abraham Stiller (Ville Virtanen, Netflix’s Bordertown) risks everything to protect the refugee community. This powerful film showcases courage, resilience, and the fight for hope in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Ismo Mikael Leikola, sometimes known professionally as ISMO, is a Finnish comedian, musician, author, screenwriter, and YouTuber. Leikola made his United States debut in 2014, when he won the “Funniest Person in the World” competition organized by the comedy club Laugh Factory.

Salolampi leaders and Lily Obeda will talk about changes and work weekends. Salolampi villagers will talk about their experience this past summer.

Traditional Finnish Christmas Sing-Along. Social time with coffee and pulla following the service, alongside a Christmas market.
